Our eco-responsible commitments

Reinforced selective sorting

Our campsite in the Ain region is equipped with garbage cans for everyday waste – that’s the least we can do. But since the 2021 season, we have installed bins for selective sorting directly at the campsite exit : a bin reserved for glass, skips for sorting and garbage cans for household waste. Since 2024, sorting methods have changed throughout the department. The bin for plastics and cardboard now also accepts all food packaging and empty yoghurt pots, as well as all paper and cardboard – and that’s even better! Coupled with the compost circuit, the volume of our personal household waste has been divided by 2 (or even 3).

So why not do the same, even on vacation? Let’s keep up the pace together. Less waste, better sorted – that’s good news for the planet.

Mulching

Mulching is the process of cutting grass into small pieces and leaving them in place. It’s both economical and ecological! In fact, this method of mowing saves an enormous amount of time (no need to go back and forth to empty the cut grass, no turbine to suck it up and no high-powered, energy-hungry mower)… so less gas is consumed and released! What’s more, the shredded grass becomes green fertilizer for the soil.

Compost

Since the 2021 season, we’ve been building and providing a compost bin in the heart of the grounds. And it’s very greedy!

He particularly likes to get rid of all your vegetable and fruit peelings, leftovers from your meals, flowers that you’ve carefully picked from the meadows and which have since wilted, but also your tea bags and leaves, coffee grounds with the filter, paper tissues…

On top of that, it’s good for nature’s cycle, feeding the earth and all sorts of useful little creatures!

Pruning and shredding

Our campsite is well planted with trees, and you’ll love the natural shade provided by the different species of our large trees.

But trees need upkeep. So every year, in addition to the minor maintenance pruning that your boss can do, a professional tree trimmer comes and spots the worst branches and uses the chainsaw to eliminate dead wood that has become dangerous.

After that, the larger branches are the delight of those who heat their homes with wood in winter. Everything else is shredded on site, producing a superb mixture of bark and small pieces that we use to cover planters and groves, preventing weeds from growing and limiting watering by conserving moisture!

Lighting and the Milky Way

Little by little, we are renewing or installing low-energy lighting. LED technology is taking over in most of our rental properties.

The main street lamps in the living areas go out at 10pm, so you can drift off to sleep or simply look up and lose yourself in the myriad stars that cover the summer nights.

Here, there’s no visual pollution at night and, on a clear day, the sky is magnificent. That’s the advantage of being in the countryside. But don’t forget to look where you’re stepping, as you might come across an adventurous hedgehog or a teasing doe.

Our campsite is an LPO partner

Welcome to our campsite, a haven of peace where nature is our top priority. Nestling in the heart of a green setting, we are proud to be an LPO (Ligue pour la Protection des Oiseaux) refuge, committed to the preservation of biodiversity.

In our approach, every action counts. Throughout your stay, you’ll be surrounded by the melodious songs of birds, witnesses to the natural balance we strive to maintain. Our facilities scrupulously respect the environment, encouraging the natural habitat of local species.

We have set up dedicated areas specially designed for birds, offering a safe haven during their long journeys or simply to facilitate their reproduction. Our estate is an oasis of biodiversity, with a multitude of local trees and hedges, providing a home for the bird and insect species essential to the ecosystem.

Every daily gesture is thought out with preservation in mind. We make the best use of our energy, limit our water consumption and favor environmentally-friendly products. Our visitors are made aware of the importance of protecting nature through a daily and ongoing approach.

By staying with us, you’re making a direct contribution to preserving the local flora and fauna. Because here, in our LPO refuge campsite, every moment is an invitation to preserve the richness of our environment for future generations.
